One year, I took my girls to all of the North Carolina State Parks. This state is so varied. One thing that was really interesting in Eastern North Carolina, was the rainbow sheen on swamp water and black water rivers.

This painting tried to capture that, and also was a looser, more abstract version of a coastal plain landscape.
